Day one on the job as President of the United States of America, I would put every country on notice that in one year they will lose all aid from us but will be given a chance to regain it by earning it. And it will have to be earned on a yearly basis thereafter.
The following countries will be granted an exception - Poland, Israel, Egypt, Japan, Czech Republic, & Hungary. I would include S. Korea but I'd like to see them clean up some animal abuse issues first.
The reason? They demonstrate on a regular basis their commitment to Freedom.
America finances too many countries that not only show no value for Freedom in their political or social systems but also openly espouse their hatred for America and it's values.
I would require every other country to come to America and plead their case. On a yearly basis they must outline their plans to further values that are in line with America in their respective countries. If they do so, then they will be granted aid for one year.
I would limit the number of countries that will get aid every year as well.
The consequences of this type of policy will be a huge positive for us & for our neighbors on a monetary as well as a humanitarian level.
Of course I would then create a similar policy for businesses, non-profits, and other organizations inside America. But thats a post for another day.
Its time to stop the plunder of America.

Obama or Hillary?
I get the sneaky feeling that whoever the nominee will be for the Republicans that they won't be running against Obama, rather it will be Hillary.
I believe that not only do the Democrats realize that Obama is losing more and more support but that all the Republican arguments have been tailored to defeating Obama. Another candidate would throw the Republican's off their game giving the new candidate a very nice head start.
Obama is not the problem. Obama is just the most honest representation of what the Democratic party has become, but not the problem. Obama is the most current face upon a sinister plot to change America from it's foundations all the way to the top.
By the way, why is that allowed? People keep mindlessly citing we are a Free Society, everyone should have an opinion! True, but being Free does not mean allowing Freedom to be destroyed. Like Lemmings these people are being driven over a cliff while chanting "Free speech! Free speech!". But I digress.
The real problem is not Obama or even Hillary, but their religion of which they are merely it's practitioners. The religion is a brand of Socialism that favors a rigid, oppressive, heaven-on-earth, thoroughly Secular society. Socialism is a religion with many denomination sprouting from it - Fascism, Communism, National Socialism, Corporatism, (now) America's Democratic party & more.
To call someone a Liberal is missing most of the problem. To call them a Radical Secularist is missing the point as well. To argue that Obama must go is a trap. Smoke & mirrors are a Socialists best friend & the Republicans have been chasing them through this maze for much too long.
We are in a religious war of ideas & the Republicans need to begin to argue accordingly. Arguing with or against the latest "face" will not solve any problems nor further the cause of Freedom. When the real enemy is not named or known for that matter, then nothing can be won since we weren't fighting the true battle much less the true war.
So far Newt Gingrich has been the only one to argue in these terms. The terms that state we are fighting ideals & idealouges not the present representation of them. In fact, he has been arguing this way all along. We just haven't been listening.

The Never-ending Struggle
From Newt Gingrich's book "A Nation like no Other":
Roosevelt offered a profound moral defense of our civilization: “Today the whole world is divided between human slavery and human freedom—between pagan brutality and the Christian ideal. We choose human freedom—which is the Christian ideal.”

Free speech or Sedition?
I've been asking for ages why the concept of free speech allows for that which seeks to destroy it.
Found a powerful quote from Ayn Rand:
[The right to free speech] does not demand that private citizens provide a microphone for the man who advocates their destruction....
Better said than I.
I've always used the analogy that it is illegal to yell fire in a crowded theater and that preaching Socialism was like screaming fire in a crowded nation. Both seek to panic and destroy. Both should be illegal.
Can people have their opinions, sure but Socialism is not an opinion, it is a way of life that is contrary to the American way of life. If people want to privately practice Socialism that would be fine too but not impose it upon everyone which is again, un-American.
People can even leave, since Socialism runs rampant throughout the worldm there are plenty of Socialist choices out there but only one country that is different (or used to be) and that is America.
America is the lone candle of Light in this world that is engulfed in the darkness of Socialism.
Let us work to keep that light lit, to show the world there is another way, a better way.

Divided we stand, divided we fall
Whenever a few individuals do break free, adds La Boétie, it is often because their eyes have been opened by the study of history. Learning of similar past tyrannies, they recognize the pattern in their own society. Instead of accepting what they are born into, they acquire the art of slipping out of it and seeing everything from a different angle—a trick Montaigne, in the Essays, would make his characteristic mode of thinking and writing. Alas, there are usually too few of these free spirits to do any good. They do not work together, but live “alone in their imaginings.”
~from Sarah Bakewell's "How to live life"/Montaigne
More from Sarah/Montaigne:
The populace willingly gives itself up, and this only encourages the tyrant to take away everything they have—even their lives, if he sends them to war to fight for him. Something in human beings drives them to a “deep forgetfulness of freedom.” Everyone, from top to bottom of the system, is mesmerized by their voluntary servitude and by the power of habit, since often they have known nothing else. Yet all they need to do is to wake up and withdraw their cooperation.
