Fundamental mistakes that Republicans make are that they don't understand their opponent nor do they understand their fellow man.
Obama and party are not stupid, they know what they are doing. And they are doing it well while Republicans, ignorant of Democrats true motives, chase shadows and smoke. Until they realize what is really happening then they, Republicans, will never be able to undo the negative change this country has endured nor simply defeat their opponent.
Republicans are notoriously bad at communicating their ideas and values. Some (finally), like Thomas Sowell, believe that this is due to their lack of communication maybe even due to the lack of quality in their communications. But I believe that it is also who they are speaking too that counts.
Americans don't want to pay attention to politics. They want to live their lives in peace. The public is not stupid and can understand the Republican message, if they wanted too. But they don't want to, they want to live, play, sleep, eat, drink... not become political scientists, historians, philosophers, and/or economists.
It seems that Democrats count on the truth presented above while Republicans are ignorant of it. This does not mean that Republicans should approach this truth in the same dishonest manner as their opponent but embrace it and shape it to their message.
Simply put they want to work, go home and be with their family and friends and not be bothered. That and not knowing their opponent keep the Republicans from winning longterm gains and ensuring the American way of life. A life we may soon lose.

Uprooted and transplanted which leads to my view of the world being, sometimes, a bit different than most. Not always right, not always wrong. I just think too much and had to find a way to get it all out of my head.
